CoSign is an extraordinary project housed with the American Sign Museum in Cincinnati. With a grant from ArtPlace the Sign Museum was able to engage local businesses, artists and sign fabricators as part of an economic development and urban design solution to a number of Cincinnati's neighborhood business districts.
In addition to branding, the project also entailed simplifying and visualizing the process of bringing the various stakeholders together to collaborate on the creative and functional challenge of designing a sign. As part of this process we integrated the necessary steps that would be needed for municipal permit approval with the City of Cincinnati's Building Department.
After a successful pilot phase the project was launched nationwide through a toolkit that allowed different communities to customize the process to meet their specific needs.
